OFF POLSKA: VERY CHEAP
In 2024, the Kreatura Foundation completed its first production — the performance Very Cheap, the final part of the Very trilogy, created within the OFF Polska 2024 program. The project, developed by the duo Fat and Dumb (Patrycja Kowańska and Dominika Knapik), nominees for the 2024 Polityka Passports, comments on the condition of contemporary artists and the realities of working in a precarious cultural sector. The performance became the Foundation’s flagship project, combining humor, critical insight, and social sensitivity.
Very Cheap — the Foundation’s first full-scale production — premiered at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival and was subsequently presented at the BRAMAT Festival, Teatr KTO, and the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. A total of around 560 spectators saw the show, and post-performance discussions strengthened the creators’ relationship with the audience.

The OFF Polska program was created to facilitate the production and presentation of off-theater and independent theatre productions. Its main idea is to support independent creators by financing their projects from the concept stage. The funds provided not only enable the development of new productions but also support the development of off-theater. The program allows theatre to address a variety of challenges, including those related to reaching audiences and expanding the audience for theatre.

The Foundation conducted effective promotion, reaching approximately 2,000 recipients and creating professional documentation that formed the basis of its archive. The production was conducted in accordance with the standards of the Theatre Institute.
Also participating in the production were Wolfgang Macher (lighting), Szymon Lechowicz (music), Iga Fuchs (graphics), Paweł Feiglewicz-Penarski (video), and Magdalena Kasjaniuk (makeup). Project partners included the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre, the Żak Club, the Goleniów Cultural Center, and the KTO Theatre.
All shows were carried out as planned, despite various technical conditions, and the final presentation on the main GTS stage was a complete success.
